The Humber Electrical Engineering Company purchased

On the 12th November 2013, Bryan Irving and Ian Morl, who have been running Humber Electrical Engineering as CEO and CFO respectively, purchased the assets of the company safeguarding the future of the business and its 84 full time members of staff.

The new company continues to trade as The Humber Electrical Engineering Company Limited delivering the exceptional levels of service that has given Humber Electrical the fine reputation it has today. The transaction and subsequent investment positions the company for future growth and will allow it to take advantage of the many emerging opportunities in the marketplace.

Recruitment is also being undertaken to underpin the company’s plans for future growth and this has already been initiated with the appointment of two electrical designers and a member of the accounts team. Further positions will be announced over the coming weeks.

Humber Electrical recently marked the start of its expansion plans by welcoming Alan Johnson, MP for Kingston upon Hull West and Hessle to its city centre factory to meet management, staff and board members.

The three year plan presented to Alan Johnson involves moving to new premises within Hull and a large scale investment into new equipment to increase manufacturing efficiency. This move will also see the recruitment of at least 20 new members of staff which includes developing relationships with local universities and colleges in order to benefit from local graduates and apprentices.

During his visit, Alan Johnson took the time to meet employees and said “Humber Electrical Engineering has played a significant role in the history of Hull manufacturing and I am delighted to support them with their long term expansion and recruitment plans”.

Humber Electrical Engineering currently employs 84 people and is based in Hull City Centre. It has an excellent reputation in providing electrical services to the Marine, Offshore, Renewables, Industrial, Commercial and Public Sectors. The expansion plans are expected to long term local supply chain benefit.

Bryan Irving, CEO of Humber Electrical said “We have a long history of national and international work and whilst these revenue streams continue to grow, we are also looking at new opportunities nearer to home. We are delighted to have Alan Johnson’s support for our plans and are very excited about the future”.
