Solis Marine Consultants opens third UK office in North East England
Solis Marine Consultants has opened its third UK office in the city of Hull as the company continues to grow its existing UK operations.
This new office gives Solis Marine’s team of naval architects, marine engineers and master mariners a permanent base in the North East of England from which to deliver a range of traditional marine and engineering services to the offshore renewables and shipping sectors.
With significant investment in the offshore renewables and marine industries in the Humber ports, Yorkshire coastal ports and Teeside, Solis Marine brings to the region an exceptional track record in the development of offshore renewables and clean shipping.
Renewable energy operations have formed a considerable part of the work of our engineering team, Solis Marine Engineering. This has included both inshore and offshore installations where mooring systems have been designed and developed to suit the particular requirements of floating installations whether wind or current driven.
Solis Marine is also well situated internationally to be able to monitor project cargo from factory to delivery. For example, our teams have been able to undertake the oversight of all operations from the packing and transfer of equipment from Chinese manufacturers to the loading port, securing onto project vessels and the discharge in the UK.
The team is also currently working across a number of schemes which are advancing the decarbonisation agenda, including the development of electric ferries and the transition of existing ships to alternative fuels.
One of our other specialisms is understanding different offshore mooring technologies and evaluating these based upon specific scenarios such as floater design, water depth, ocean and marine growth conditions, subsea cable and protection system analysis and marine operation simulations.
Our core range of services also includes incident investigation and incident reconstruction using AIS data, expert witness services to arbitration tribunals and courts in a number of jurisdictions. Three of the Solis Marine partners are members of the Lloyd’s panel of Special Casualty Representatives (SCRs) and specialise in salvage and wreck removal operations from emergency attendance to assisting with the bids and ITTs, to monitoring all activities on site on behalf of owners and insurers. We also offer technical due diligence services to financial institutions.
The new Solis Marine office is located at Cherry Tree Court, 36 Ferensway, Hull HU2 8NH where you can now contact us on 01482 762588. We also have offices in London and Falmouth, which is the base for Solis Marine Engineering.
