Siemens factory will make Hull world leader for marine renewable energy, says industry leader
Siemens was today reported to be formally submitting an application to build the factory at the city’s Alexandra Dock, at a site called Green Port Hull. If the plans, which are being jointly submitted with port operator Associated British Ports, are approved next year, the development could be operational by the end of 2014. The factory would assemble turbines, destined for huge wind farms in the North Sea, and employ about 700 people.
