Hull Training Engineering Apprentices scooped three awards at the recent Hull Association of Engineers’ Awards
Robert Steadman was awarded the President’s Shield for his continued development throughout his apprenticeship, comments from tutors include: Rob is a quiet unassuming student. All of his work is produced to a high standard and once he gets a grasp of what’s required he just gets on with it… An Outstanding learner who assists and supports his peers
Company Comments: Robert has been with Water Hydraulics for several years; in this time he has proven himself to be an outstanding apprentice engineer.
His curiosity and his determination has helped turn him into a highly capable member of staff; not only becoming a proficient mechanical engineer but also making head-way in to electronics. He works with minimal supervision and always produces work of the highest quality.
Rob is a popular member of the team and highly regarded within the company.

Danny Cawthorne winner of the Jack Hutchcroft Award has been an outstanding learner throughout his four year apprenticeship and in additional his HNC in engineering brining projects and ideas to the classroom at every opportunity.
Dave Jewitt Engineering Manager commented, Danny has a very positive attitude that comes across in his mannerisms and his general outlook in life.
He is focused, mature and driven to achieve; alongside his curiosity to figure out “how things work” this makes him the “perfect engineer”.
He is able to motivate others with his infectious positivity and gain the best from people as well as himself. This is also reflected in his workplace where he has received praise from his employers and given more responsibility, even though he has been there only a short time.
In addition to the two 2015 finalist Jordan Parkinson of The Water Hydraulics Company, awarded a Permanent Award by the Hull Association of Engineers in recognition of this previous year’s success and continued development
