Hull and Humber’s Renewables Sector Promoted across Europe
Hull and Humber’s emerging renewable energy sector is being promoted across Europe through a series of international exhibitions that are being supported by the Green Port Growth Programme (GPGP).
Under the Humber Renewables brand, the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), local authority partners and private sector representatives will visit Copenhagen, Paris, Glasgow, London and Liverpool this year, to promote the Humber to the wider, European renewables market. This is to foster more inward investment to the region and to give local businesses the opportunity to showcase their offerings in the market.
The GPGP, which is supported by the UK Government’s Regional Growth Fund and is designed to help regional businesses capitalise on renewable opportunities, has played several roles in supporting the Humber Renewables exhibition programme since it was established last year, from funding to assistance at the events.
