Hornsea Two Planning Application Moves Forward
The UK Planning Inspectorate closed the examination period for the Hornsea Two offshore wind project yesterday.
The Examining Authority now has 3 months to consider the project and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State, who will then have further 3 months to make the decision.
Hornsea Project Two, located approximately 89km off the Yorkshire coast, will have up to 360 turbines with a total capacity of up to 1,800MW.
DONG Energy has acquired the entire Hornsea Zone, comprising three offshore wind sites, from SMart Wind, a consortium between Mainstream Renewable Power and Siemens Financial Services.
