Green boost for Team Humber at major renewable show
More than 100 Humber businesses were represented at one of Europe’s key renewable energy exhibitions and conferences last week.
Team Humber Marine Alliance, the Hull-based industry organisation that seeks business opportunities for its members in renewable energy and other key growth sectors, reported ‘great interest in the Humber’ from All-Energy 2011 in Aberdeen, held on May 18 and 19.
Member companies from THMA, which had a large stand at the show, are now following up strong business leads as a result of attendance at the event, which brings together the major players in the UK and European renewable sector.
Interest in All-Energy was at an all-time high as attendee and exhibitor numbers broke records, including 8,000 delegates linked to the renewable energy sector from more than 50 countries.
Iain Butterworth, a THMA director, and solicitor with Myton Law, said: “Team Humber Marine Alliance member companies were a focus of attention at the event. There is clearly great interest in the Humber at the moment, and a lot of companies in the renewable energy sector are considering collaboration and putting work our way.
“The event was a fantastic showcase for the Humber region and for all member companies. Even members who did not attend were well represented and received real benefit.”
The Team Humber Marine Alliance stand was staffed by Alliance directors, sector champions and member companies, including Fairburns Group, HETA, HOTA, Andrew Jackson, Language is Everything, Marine Rescue Technologies and Point Engineering.
Other THMA member companies, such as Brevini, Corrocoat and MTL, were also in attendance with their own stands.
Brian Bullock, a THMA sector champion, said: “We dealt with high-quality enquiries throughout the course of a busy All-Energy, and members are now following up many concrete leads.”
All-Energy, which was set up in 2001, is devoted to all forms of clean and renewable energy, including wind turbines, wind farms and offshore technologies such as wave and tidal. It covers a wide spectrum of renewable energy-related research and design, and goods and services.
