ANDREW JACKSON’S ‘TOP RANKED’ TEAM ADVISES ON MULTI-MILLION POUND VESSEL PURCHASES
The shipping & transport team at Andrew Jackson Solicitors is delighted to have advised on two recent vessel purchases: for the company behind the Extreme E off-road racing series on the acquisition of the vessel “ST HELENA”, and for the Royal Bank of Scotland in its lending to Vistgate to secure a shared purchase of 10 vessels with W Stevenson & Sons Ltd.
The 6,767 gross tonne vessel ‘ST HELENA’ was previously used to transport armed guards to protect international fishing and shipping vessels from the threat of piracy activity off the coast of Somalia, Africa. It is in the process of being transformed into a state-of-the-art carrier and is to be used as the main hub and operations paddock in the new Extreme E series, as well as transporting the motorsport’s electric-powered cars and racing teams around the world.
Acting on behalf of RBS, the team’s work sees leading UK fish processor Vistgate (T/A Ocean Fish) acquire the majority interest in its recent 10 vessel purchase with W Stevenson and Sons Ltd, which is the operator of one of Europe’s largest beam trawl fleets.
The transactions coincide with publication of the 2020 editions of Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500, the leading client guides to the legal profession. Once again, Andrew Jackson’s shipping and transport team has been ‘top ranked’ in the region by The Legal 500, and continues to be recommended as being among the leading UK firms in Chambers’ guide.
