Siemens Gamesa welcomes Manor Renewable Energy to Hull

Manor Renewable Energy has established an operational hub at Siemens Gamesa’s world-class manufacturing and port facility in Hull.

The company provides temporary power and engineering solutions for the offshore wind industry and has bases in Dorset and Portsmouth. Its new offices and presence on the Siemens Gamesa 450,000m2 site in Hull means the business is closer geographically to its customers.

Eric Briar, Managing Director, Manor Renewable Energy said:

“The Siemens Gamesa port in Hull offers us excellent services and facilities, to our customers’ benefit. Having already supported some of the largest wind farms in the world, including Hornsea One and East Anglia One, we are expanding our UK reach with a team based in Hull to allow us to be closer to the action.”

James Maxwell, Port Operations Manager, Siemens Gamesa is delighted to see the port fulfilling its potential, he said:

“Millions of pounds of investment went into this site to develop what is a world-scale hub for wind power manufacturing, logistics and assembly. Collaboration with industry partners is essential and we have an important role to play in supporting businesses to recognise and embrace potential opportunities within the renewables sector.

Councillor Daren Hale, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for economic investment, commented that the investment into the city further strengthens Hull’s ambition to become the UK renewables capital on the Energy Estuary.

“We are delighted to welcome Manor Renewable Energy to the city with the opening of their operational hub. We are pleased to see the continued co-location of the renewable energy sector supply chain at the Siemens Gamesa facility in Hull.”
