GEV – establish two new global offices
In 2019, GEV continued their strategy to expand operations globally with the successful establishment of two new regional offices.
A new head office for the US division was set up in Rhode Island to support the already established operational base in West Texas. The new location puts GEV in close proximity to America’s first commercial offshore wind farm and ensures the business is well placed to support the forecast growth for offshore wind in the region.
The stable US base means GEV can provide even wider and more reliable coverage for clients throughout North America, with the company exporting their specialised blade maintenance skills to a large repair project in Mexico for the first time.
The advancements made in the US have been echoed in Europe which has also seen the setup and establishment of a new continental base in Hamburg.
The expansion of the two new bases has seen investment in technician training initiatives in the USA and Eastern Europe as GEV continues to develop the next generation of blade technicians in both key markets.
These significant advancements have opened up major new, business critical roles within the company. GEV are delighted to have welcomed on board, new Field Blade Technical Manager, Simon Yeo. Simon has years of technical blade repair knowledge with rope access experience behind him. GEV look forward to increasing their service and operational capacity to maximum efficiency, employing Simon’s abundance of project and field experience.
The company’s expansion also created an exciting new position for Kim Hansen, who joins as Head of Latin America Services & Sales with a wealth of knowledge from the wind industry and extensive experience and aptitude in sales. He will be integral to GEV as the company expands its blade repair service reach further across Latin America, supported by the solid US base.
