Shipping, Rail and Logistics Law firm makes new appointments

Amy Jackson and Jessica Mackenzie have joined THMA member Myton Law, the Hull-based specialist shipping, rail and logistics law firm.

Welcoming the two to Myton Law, director Chris Thornes said, “We are very pleased to have Amy and Jessica on board.  Their appointments support our expanding business practice and, in particular, our commercial and property work for logistics and rail sector clients.”

Solicitor Amy Jackson has extensive property experience and enhances Myton Law’s real estate capabilities.  She worked in the commercial property team of another Hull firm for nearly ten years.  Prior to qualifying as a lawyer in 2006, Amy studied at the University of Hull and York College of Law.

Commenting on her decision to join the firm, Amy, who lives in the west Hull village of Welton, said, “Myton Law’s shipping, rail and logistics specialisms, for which they have strong national and even international reputations, and the quality of their clients impressed me, as did their modern, progressive way of working.”

Paralegal Jessica Mackenzie is supporting the Myton Law team in general, but with a focus on commercial and property work for logistics and rail clients.  Prior to studying for a law degree at the University of Hull and for her LPC qualification and a Masters in Law at Nottingham Trent University, Jessica ran her own business and had worked for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s property team.  Jessica lives in Hornsea.

“The fact that Myton Law is a niche practice makes them stand out from other Hull firms,” Jessica said.  “I was very pleased to be offered the opportunity to be involved in such interesting and specialist work.”

Myton Law provides legal services from its Hull offices overlooking the Humber. In addition to shipping, rail and logistics, Myton Law’s expertise includes insurance, renewables and international trade.
