A FESTIVAL celebrating Grimsby’s heritage, new eco-housing, green spaces and a business and cultural hub – plans for the transformation of the Kasbah area of the town’s docks along with nearby Freeman Street are gaining pace.

A packed audience at the town headquarters of Wilkin Chapman solicitors heard how ambitious multi-million plans for the town were more likely to become a reality now than ever before.

Grimsby Renewables Partnership, (GRP), held its most recent networking event at Wilkin Chapman’s Cartergate premises and heard about the town’s reinvention from four keynote speakers – the firm’s offshore wind lead Partner Jonathan Goolden, colleague and corporate and commercial solicitor Adam Ottley, ABP’s Sustainable Development Manager Tom Jeynes and Chair of CultureWorks, Charlotte Bowen.

In front of an audience of more than 70, Jonathan said: “There are exciting developments taking place in Grimsby and we all want to be a part of them.”

GRP members heard how the offshore renewables sector had been a catalyst for accelerating this change – along with support from the Greater Grimsby Town Deal.
