THMA Chairman’s Christmas Letter
Dear members and partners
Yet another year flys by! However, 2017 has been a pivotal year for THMA, and indeed the region, as many long-term aspirations have finally started to come to fruition. These of course include the opening of the Siemens Gamesa Green Port facility, the consent for the Hornsea 2 and Triton Knoll offshore windfarms, the Humber location for the UK Offshore Wind Operations & Maintenance Centre of Excellence, the forward progress of Aura as well as the development of maritime skills training capacity at Modal Training and Trinity House Academy.
For us, 2017 has also been a year of reflection and we paused momentarily to appraise our endeavours over the past five years. Indeed, as well as facilitating millions of pounds of new business for our members and partners we have undertaken a mammoth programme of activities including organising:
- More than 100 key events
- 5 international trade missions
- 24 UK & international exhibitions
- 12 supply chain conferences
- 16 supply chain workshops
- 17 international inward missions
- 7 USA delegations
- 2 German delegations
- 4 Danish delegations
- 2 Norwegian delegations
- 1 Swedish delegation
- 1 Multinational delegation
- and facilitating 100s of B2B introductions
Your support, encouragement and input drives us forward and as 2017 comes to a close we look forward to 2018 with renewed optimism. We have several new developments and initiatives underway that we can hopefully announce in Q1 2018…. Watch this space!
I’d like to finish by thanking you on behalf of the THMA team and board of directors for your continued support during the past year and we look forward to working with you all in the New Year.
Seasons greetings and we wish you all a peaceful and prosperous 2018.
Kind regards
Mark O’Reilly
CEO & Chairman
