Shortlist revealed for Humber Renewables Awards 2025

The shortlist has been revealed for the Humber Renewables Awards 2025.

A post-Covid record for entries was recorded for the event, now in its 13th year, with winners set to be revealed at a gala dinner celebration on May 1.

The event, held in partnership with Orsted, RWE and Siemens Gamesa, will celebrate multi-million pound projects, significant carbon saving initiatives, incredible job creation and environmental awareness as a fitting finale to Humber Marine & Renewables’ Offshore Wind Connections conference and exhibition.

Back to consider the entries in 2025 was Sheena McGuinness, head of renewables at RSM UK, a leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services, and sponsor of OWC 2025. She said: “It was an absolute pleasure to join the judging panel again and hear of the marvellous progress made on and around the Humber in the past year.

“I was particularly taken by the quality of the apprentice applications and the projects that have been completed in recent months.

“Innovation aplenty, and recognition of a region to do great, green business has been clear throughout the submissions.”

Sheena had been joined by Jacqueline Gray, director of regional engagement at University of Lincoln and Dave Laister, Fred PR and media director, with his fellow Humber Marine and Renewables director Kurt Christensen overseeing proceedings. A total of eight categories were analysed by the judges, with additional specially-selected awards to be presented on the night.

Tickets, priced at £75, are still available for the big bash at Hull’s DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel – via the website.  Some tickets also remain for Offshore Wind Connections 2025.

Alongside category sponsors, Orsted, RWE and Siemens Gamesa, the drinks reception is supported by Rix Renewables, the programme by Boston Energy, with John Roe as car partner, BusinessLive as media partner, and support from Business Works too.
